One of them is Lozova Forging and Mechanical Plant (LKMZ), the largest forging and stamping enterprise in Ukraine and the CIS. It is part of the UPEC Industrial Group.
The plant was established in 1966 to provide hot-stamped billets to the Kharkiv group of agricultural machinery enterprises. The location of the production was determined by the presence of a major railway junction and the proximity of metallurgical plants in Eastern Ukraine.
LKMZ is a leader in the production of transmission and chassis components for tractors and road construction equipment, and manufactures bus bridges, parts and assemblies for tractor equipment, parts for railway rolling stock, and tillage equipment for use in energy-saving technologies.
The plant also specializes in mass production of 300 different types of forgings; its installed capacity is up to 180 thousand tons of forgings per year.
The main consumers of the forgings are the tractor, automotive, agricultural machinery and railway transport industries.
