DUCAT 3D Spring Stand: An Innovation in Ukrainian Harrow Design

Publication date: 2026-08-11

Modern farming requires machinery that not only performs its function but also delivers consistent tillage quality regardless of field conditions. That is why DUCAT disc harrows from LOZOVA MACHINERY feature a unique solution — the 3D spring stand, which has become a key element of the machine’s design. It ensures smooth and uniform operation of each disc while minimizing loads on the frame and bearings.

How the 3D Spring Stand Works

Conventional harrows use rigid or one-directional disc mounting, allowing movement only in the vertical plane. DUCAT works differently: thanks to the 3D spring stand, each disc can move in three planes — vertical, horizontal and lateral. This means that every disc independently follows the field contour, adapting to changes in elevation, soil structure and hardness.

This solution provides maximum tillage precision. Even when working in areas with stones or root residues, the disc does not stop or become damaged — the stand simply deflects, absorbing the impact. It then automatically returns the disc to its working position through the elastic energy of the steel.

Lower Loads — Longer Service Life

The 3D spring stand performs another important function — it reduces shock loads on the frame and harrow components. When the disc encounters an obstacle, the energy is not transferred rigidly to the structure but is absorbed by the stand itself. This significantly reduces the risk of breakdowns, extends the service life of the machine and allows operation at higher speeds without compromising tillage quality.

The DUCAT frame is subjected mainly to uniform loads, ensuring its stability even after thousands of hectares of operation. As a result, the machine requires minimal servicing and maintains consistent working depth accuracy over many seasons.

Consistent Working Depth

One of the main advantages of the 3D spring system is consistent working depth. Regardless of the field profile, each disc operates at the preset depth without creating uneven areas. This is especially important for seedbed preparation, when uniformity directly affects crop emergence and future yield quality.

In addition, the 3D mounting system maintains the optimal disc angle of attack across different field conditions. As a result, each disc enters the soil at the correct angle, improving stubble chopping and the mixing of crop residues into the soil.

Fuel Savings and Higher Productivity

Thanks to the flexible operation of the spring stands, DUCAT does not require excessive pulling force. The load on the tractor is reduced, which means lower fuel consumption per hectare. Compared with conventional harrows, fuel costs can be reduced by 10–15%. At the same time, the working speed remains high — up to 15 km/h, without compromising tillage quality.

During field tests, farmers note that even after several seasons of intensive operation, the springs retain their elasticity, while the discs maintain a consistent range of movement. This demonstrates that the 3D spring stand is not merely an innovation but a practical solution that performs reliably in real Ukrainian field conditions.

Technology Designed for Stability

The 3D spring stand is an example of an engineering approach that combines simplicity and efficiency. It allows the DUCAT harrow to remain stable even under the most challenging conditions and maintain high tillage quality where other machines may lose productivity. This technology has helped make DUCAT a symbol of the reliability of Ukrainian manufacturing — machinery designed with the realities of modern farming in mind.
